- When your groomsmen tells you he is allergic to mushrooms and then they serve him food with mushrooms isn't very thoughtful. For my step-sister's wedding (which I believe my feelings on that one are well known) she made absolutely sure that no mushrooms were near his plate. You are suppose to be his good friend, at the very least warn him before he consumes the entire plate of food that there are mushrooms present... that way he doesn't have to throw up in the bathroom... Thank goodness mushrooms don't cause him to stop breathing otherwise you'd have quite a wedding story...
- (People will probably disagree with this one) but I hate when people 'donate money instead of providing favors'. I'm a sympathetic person, I get it, but geez, give me a piece or chocolate or something... it comes off as lazy. If you're going to do this at least print it on a piece or paper or something...
Either way... here's some pictures... in the end we did have a good time despite my rant...
Ignore how awful my hair looks, but I absolutely loved my dress!! I was so happy with the color and I got so many complements on it. The shoes ended up working out perfectly, they were pretty comfortable and I was able to walk in them all day... I was taller than Chad, hence my goofy stance in the picture below to look shorter... but they were great. I took them off to dance and such which was the plan all along... didn't our colors go together perfectly??The only issue I had was the top was too big... I guess I didn't have big enough boobs, but whatever, it worked!! Loved my earrings too!!
We had a really fun time, other than me feeling sick, but whatever, I made it work!!

Did Chad or you say anything about the mushrooms?
Drew and I actually hate favors- we were unanimous about not wanting them at our wedding. I just think that there are so many other things that you could spend that money on. However, I freaking loved the Jones soda idea you guys had for your wedding. We just didn't have anything creative like that.
We were originally going to make a donation to Backstoppers, but then we decided that the photos from the photo booth would probably be more appreciated.
Seriously, I can't get over the mushroom thing.
But it makes me feel slightly insensitive that we didn't ask any of our guests if they had special food requirements or allergies... :( Did we have mushrooms at our wedding?
Love the dress! Love the shoes! You guys look adorable!
Hey Christina - I liked the photo booth idea... and I know I'm probably in the minority of the wedding favor thing... but figured I'd say it anyway.
We don't expect special treatment at weddings, but we typically write on the RSVP card that he's allergic. You guys didn't have mushrooms and we were fine, but when I'm sitting with him I'm always on the look out for those buggers.
We did tell the bride and groom that he was allergic. We actually sent them a text from your wedding b/c it reminded me (even though like you said there wasn't mushrooms) And he still got served a plate of them.
It was in the gravy that was on the chicken. Some plates had a ton, others you could barely see them... I think he got a plate that they weren't obvious on...
I felt bad for him!!
